How to Setup WordPress Hosting

We encourage all clients to set up their own hosting prior to beginning a project with us. Setting up hosting under your own credit card and account information allows you to maintain control over your business's web domain and files in the future, long after FreshMuse has delivered your beautiful website or blog.

Our preferred host is BlueHost because they offer great WordPress hosting, awesome 24/7 support, and it's the platform we find easiest to use. Below you'll find our recommendation for setting up your WordPress hosting and domain online.


1. Visit BlueHost and click sign up.

2. If you have not purchased your domain yet, enter the domain you would like to have for your new site.
  • BlueHost will help you with the domain buying process by telling you if you your desired domain is available, and suggest alternatives if it is not.
3. If you have already purchased your domain, enter it into the appropriate field and click next.
  • You can find information about transferring your already purchased domain to BlueHost here. Or if you're working with us, we can do that for you. 
4. Fill out your information and choose a package. For most purposes the standard, 12-month package is best. Most websites don't need SiteLock Domain Security or Site Backup Pro.

5. Complete the prompted information and you're all set!  You now have a WordPress hosting account that FreshMuse can use to build your brand new WordPress site!
